Who is paying for failed CCISD candidate Misty Dawson's legal bills?

CNN recently aired a show, Deep in the Pockets of Texas, which highlighted the unlimited money donated to republican causes by just two billionaires. I'm wondering if that money is coming to influence CCISD elections.

Misty Dawson, who is "Morally Minded and Not Politically Divided" and who lost the CCISD school board election and has sued her opponent has closed out her campaign account after filing her last campaign finance report in June. In July she amended the report to keep it open. Her report did not disclose any payments for legal services to Eric Opiela, her attorney. According to the Texas Ethics Commission no payment from any organization has been made to Opiela for these services. Even if Opiela is providing the services free of charge Dawson must record the fair market value as an "in-kind" donation. As of today she has not.

So, who is paying for Dawson's attorney? It could be a number of people including State Representative Money Mayes Middleton the oligarch of Galveston County, or the Texas Republican Party or Harris County Republican Party although neither have reported this expenditure on their latest reports. It could also be Kathleen Wall who spent $6 Million of her own money in a losing Congressional effort. It could be State Representative Little Baby Briscoe Cain.

Or it could be Farris Wilks or Timothy Dunn the two billionaires in the CNN show. No matter who is paying for Dawson's attorney it must eventually reported. My bet is on Wilks and Dunn.

League City Councilman butting into CCISD lawsuit

I do not know Justin Hicks, Councilman for League City, but he is meddling in the legal issues of CCISD and leading the crazies with false information.

After losing the election for School Board, Misty Dawson filed suit claiming (wait for it.....) election fraud, not against CCISD, but against her opponent, Jessica Cejka, demanding a new election and $100,000. At first the CCISD School Board could not agree on whether to fund the defense of Jessica Cejka. At the regular meeting a motion to fund failed by a tied vote with Trustee Scott Bowen leading the "no" votes and Jessica Cejka recusing herself.

At a special meeting this week the board voted to fund the defense of the School District since the lawsuit referenced the election that was conducted by CCISD personnel. Hicks, in a recent Facebook post, claims this funding is illegal. Hicks is an engineer and might have obtained his law degree from Facebook University. His post includes:

This is a violation of Texas Penal code Chapter 39.02, and it is likely a felony on

the school's part as well as for Jessica Cejka to accept the funds and help.

What I need you to do: Email the entire board and tell them to NOT use taxpayer

funds to defend a personal civil suit (felony). And also remind Jessica Cejka to

recuse herself from this vote as it is a HUGE conflict of interest.... Please do this

before Monday 7/25 and let the board know we don't appreciate this illegal and

unethical abuse of taxpayer funds.

After consulting with REAL legal counsel, the CCISD Board voted, unanimously, to fund the defense of CCISD with some restrictions. Even Hicks' buddy Scott Bowen voted in favor of the resolution. Hicks makes not mention of the grievance filed against Bowen for....wait for it.....conflict of interest in this legal situation.

So Hicks needs to either go back and take a refresher course on Facebook U, or just shut the f*uck up.

The entire Facebook thread can be viewed here.

CCISD comes to a decision on the Dawson v Cejka lawsuit

Well that was interesting.

CCISD had a special board meeting last night to vote on a couple of issues, funding the legal response to the Dawson election lawsuit and appointing an individual to lead the grievance hearing against Trustee Scott Bowen.

The board voted to fund the defense of the lawsuit filed by the loser, in the CCISD election Misty Dawson, specifically in reference to a CCISD employee who was named in the suit. Since the lawsuit named a CCISD employee the board now has authority to fund the defense and voted to do so, unanimously with Cejka abstaining. According to Trustee Larson once the suit focuses on Cejka specifically the funding can come to a stop. I can't see that happening since Cejka did not run the elections, is not being accused of rigging the election, and did nothing but run in the election. Even if the lawsuit is successful Cejka cannot void the election, cannot order a new election, and can't run a new election. Why Dawson and Bowen thought suing Cejka was legally sound is beyond me.

In the other vote, the board voted to appoint someone to hear the formal grievance filed against Trustee Scott Bowen concerning his conflict of interest in the Dawson v Cejka lawsuit. That has been covered before and the vote was also unamimous with Bowen abstaining.

Grievance filed against CCISD Trustee

This is what happens when CCISD is flooded with outside, unlimited, partisan money.

An official grievance has been filed against CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen for his conflict of interest in the past election resulting in a lawsuit by the loser against the winner, Jessica Cejka. For background:

After the election for CCISD the loser, Misty Dawson, filed a lawsuit against Jessica Cejka demanding that she voids the election, conduct a new one, and give her $100,000. The suit was NOT against CCISD who actually conducted the election. Since the suit has been filed Scott Bowen has been running point on behalf of Dawson. Based upon his comments during the last Board meeting it is clear Bowen is compromised and should recuse himself from all further discussion concerning the issue.

Bowen should recuse himself for a number of reasons including:

  1. Based upon his comments during the last CCISD board meeting it is clear he is coordinating with the attorney for Misty Dawson and should never be involved in closed door discussions concerning this lawsuit
  2. This attorney for Dawson was the former general counsel of the Texas Republican Party
  3. The TRP endorsed Bowen
  4. Bowen is the lead for candidate recruitment for the Harris County Republican Party
  5. Bowen recruited Dawson
  6. Bowen campaigned for Dawson
  7. The HCRP listed on their campaign finance report that they supported both Dawson and Bowen
  8. The HCRP paid for a mailer for the campaign
  9. Bowen has a clear interest in this case in order to have a 4th vote for him to become the President of the board, a vote he lost by one vote
  10. Just the appearance of a conflict of interest should be enough for Bowen to recuse himself from participating in any discussion, vote, or decision concerning Dawson v Cejka
Below is the email sent to the legal office of CCISD concerning the grievance.

CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen should recuse himself from the CCISD lawsuit

After the election for CCISD the loser, Misty Dawson, filed a lawsuit against Jessica Cejka demanding that she voids the election, conduct a new one, and give her $100,000. The suit was NOT against CCISD who actually conducted the election. Since the suit has been filed Scott Bowen has been running point on behalf of Dawson. Based upon his comments during the last Board meeting it is clear Bowen is compromised and should recuse himself from all further discussion concerning the issue.

Bowen was also on the ballot during the time that Dawson claimed election fraud. If a new election is required his position must be on the ballot which creates one of many conflicts of interest. Bowen recruited Dawson. He is the lead of school board candidate recruitment for the Harris County Republican Party. Dawson's attorney was the general counsel of the Texas Republican Party. The Republican Party endorsed Bowen. The Republican Party donated to Bowen and Dawson. Bowen campaigned for Dawson. If Dawson, who is one of the worst candidates ever to apply for the position, would win it would give Bowen the necessary votes to become President of the Board.

Based upon his "legal" comments during the meeting it is clear he is working with the Dawson legal team. Bowen has been in closed door session discussing legal issues concerning this situation and I would bet he  is conspiring with the Dawson legal team and providing confidential information. This cannot stand.

Bowen must recuse himself from all discussions and votes concerning these matters.

CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen's legal coordinated assault against CCISD

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Scott Bowen is a dick and he is coordinating the lawsuit against Jessica Cejka.

Misty Dawson lost a very close election to Jessica Cejka. So instead of asking for a recount, like most losers do, she ran to Scott Bowen and filed a lawsuit demanding $100,000, to void the election, and to have another one. To muddle this situation, on purpose, they filed the suit against Jessica, NOT the school district.

So now Bowen, who seems to have gained his law degree over the last week or so, is defending Dawson's decision to file the suit against Jessica therefore the school district cannot, by law, pay for Jessica's defense. This is a setup. I bet Bowen, Davis, and Larson are all working with Dawson's attorney. They have organized people to talk at the meeting in support of the lawsuit. Bowen even referenced their comments. This is all a setup up.

I have to agree with Cottrell's comment about being bullied by those with money. Scott Bowen has money from the Republican Party to challenge these elections by filing against individuals. Bowen spent over $20,000 an obscene amount of money for a school district. All overs spent a couple of thousand.

This is a coordinated setup against the district, against the taxpayers, and against anyone who runs for office against Scott Bowen's supported candidate. Dawson went straight to a lawsuit with the help of the former attorney of the Republican Party. They have deep pockets. They have unlimited resources with millionaires and billionaires firmly behind them.

It is sad. Jessica is probably one of the best to ever run for the school district and Bowen is supporting the loser who is the absolute worst candidate to ever run for office.

You can watch Bowen kiss the republican party's ass here. It is about 30 minutes long.

Raising Campaign Cash: State Representative Dennis Paul (voucher money)

Dennis Paul isn't exactly a money making machine when it comes to raising campaign cash.

In his last financial report Paul raised $34,606, spent $21,461, and has $26,554 cash on hand. He still maintains an outstanding loan amount of $111,000. For a State House race $34,606 is a loser but Paul is in a safe district. Paul could be caught with giving a 18 year old a loaded assault weapon to shoot up a bunch of children and he will still be elected.

$1025 came from three individuals. $33,529 came from PAC money including $2500 from the Charter Schools Now PAC. As much as Paul kisses the ass of the NRA he has not received any money from any gun nut organization.

BTW. Paul has scrubbed his website of any mention of any gun nut organizations. Luckily what is posted on the internet, stays on the internet.

Jaws of life called for CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen

The League City Community has called for the jaws to get Trustee Scott Bowen's panties out of his ass. This guy is such an a**hole. A major league republican a**hole.  Scott Bowen is having a flaming hissy fit.

It seems there are organizations that specializes in finding qualified leaders for various positions such as the next superintendent of CCISD. Needless to say this is a pretty important position responsible for the day to day activities for thousands of students and parents. I would think hiring a firm that specializes in this type of search is a good idea since it would take a considerable amount of time to find, interview, and research a new superintendent.

Turns out Scotty is having none of it. One of the companies requesting consideration for the job advertises being an equal opportunity organization which basically means to look far and wide for the most qualified. It has never meant to hire someone based upon a particular ethnicity it just means to search far and wide. It's not a hard concept to understand unless you're a pea brain.

Scott is a pee brain. I guess he wants to limit the selection of someone based only on qualifications (which they actually do) just as long as they are a white, male, right wing,  republican. What an a**hole.

The state of CCISD school safety. Will your kids be safe? It will cost you to find out.

The Coward of District 129
Well on one hand thanks to League City Chamber of Commerce for doing the job the cowards of our State Legislature refuse to do, having a discussion about school safety. On the other hand if you are concerned about how CCISD will be addressing an 18 year old with a military rifle, body armor, and high capacity clips attacking your kids school and playground you will have to pay for it.

The cost is $35 for non members and will probably not include any discussion about gun safety, or how permit less carry affects our safety at schools, malls, churches, etc. The three law enforcement officers from Galveston County and Texas Rangers presenters are all NRA republicans and will die protecting the guns that have been used to kill kids. CCISD will be represented by the Director of Safe and Secure Schools.

Other districts around Houston has had open discussions about gun safety to give parents the sad, truthful, facts about the easy access to guns and the challenge to law enforcement to keep us safe not only in school but in church, concerts, parades, etc. Some of these ugly facts include:

  • Anyone can carry loaded assault weapons in public
  • Police cannot question anyone who is simply carrying a loaded assault weapon
  • To carry a loaded assault weapon in public requires no training or a license
  • 18 year olds can still buy an assault weapon and ammunition
  • Anyone can buy body armor and dress up like GI Joe
  • Anyone can buy a silencer to muffle the sound of shooting screaming kids
  • Nothing has changed to make your school safer from those who easily obtain assault weapons
This event is on July 20, 2022 and appropriately being held in a church where those who refuse to address gun violence can pray for forgiveness as they walk down the path to hell.

League City women [did NOT] celebrate the retirement of CCISD Superintendent

So in a previous post, which has since been deleted, I referred to a picture from a tweet. The Twit claimed these women were celebrating the retirement of the CCISD Superintendent due to an illness in the family and setting their sights on Trustee Jay Cunningham. It seems that this is NOT an accurate description of those in the picture.

This pic has since been removed from this Twit's account probably because someone in the picture requested it. I received the following comment:

“Hi, John.  I’m kindly alerting you that your words do not match the context of this picture just FYI.  This photo was misrepresented on another post as well. You might want to consider removing this.  I know for a fact they were under the premise that they were taking a picture to send to a friend who was unable to be in attendance.  I also know at least three of these women have/had zero issues with Williams specifically and would never knowingly take a photo celebrating his departure.  Just giving you full context.”

The Twit seems to be taking credit for the Superintendent leaving and have set their sights on CCISD Trustee Jay Cunningham. Jay beat Christine Parizo by 25% points in 2021. Parizo cost the district at least $45,000 due to repeated requests for public information and requests by the Texas Attorney Generals office. In the end she still lost and was eventually escorted out of a board meeting after Jay read a letter from the Attorney General emphasizing "This investigation is CU-LOSED!". Jay has performed very well for the district and should be able to hold the seat by another large margin.

So I would bet this Twit will probably get behind Parizo in 2023. If elected the Republican Party will be able to finally take over the CCISD board joining Davis, Larson, and Bowen and bring real family values to the district, like targeting teachers and parents who are divorced, coaches having affairs,  those who have remarried and others who are violating the sanctity of marriage.

So I'm glad that this picture was incorrectly captioned and removed by the Twit.

How much did Christine Parizo's recount cost CCISD taxpayers

Glad you asked.... Parizo lost by 25 percentage points in 2021 to Jay Cunningham. It was clearly a no contest. After her epic defeat she demanded a recount, complained to the Texas Attorney General's office, and forced CCISD to spend resources to respond. The cost to tax payers? $44,590.

Now Misty Dawson, another loser in the CCISD elections, has filed suit asking the courts to declare the 2022 election void and to require another election. She also asked for $100,000 cash money. Parizo never filed suit. Dawson's suit will now require the district to spend taxpayers money on legal fees.

Here is the information request concerning Parizo:

1) Cost of the recount(s) requested by Christina Parizo in her epic loss to Jay Cunningham

2) Cost to CCISD to provide information concerning the multiple open records requests submitted by Christina Parizo in reference to her epic loss to Jay Cunningham.

3) Cost of responding to the Texas Attorney General’s investigation/ complaint filed by

And the response from CCISD:

1) Clear Creek ISD paid $2,690 in May of 2021 for the recount and $2,690 for HART to return in September 2021 to retrieve internal memory data from the eSlates. Total cost for the recount would be $5,380. Ms. Parizo paid $335 which covered the pay to the recount committee and a service fee. CCISD only paid for HART’s services.

2) Clear Creek ISD employees have spent approximately 28 hours gathering responsive information and redacting protected information.

 3) Clear Creek ISD paid $30,830.34 on investigations/complaints filed by Ms. Parizo.

Failed candidate Misty Dawson files suit against CCISD

Misty Dawson, probably the worst candidate to ever run for the Clear Creek Independent School District, lost the recent election by 43 votes. She has now filed a lawsuit calling for the election to be voided and a new election to be held.

According to the petition which can be found here:

She seeks monetary relief of $100,000
Seeks to have the 2022 election voided
Seeks to have a new election
Claims there were illegal votes and some voters prevented from voting
Claims these votes total more than the difference in her loss

She is being represented by Eric Opiela. Opiela was the former Executive Director of the Texas Republican Party and their Associate General Council. I would bet the Texas Republican Party is funding this stupidity, maybe even Mike Lindell, as well as Scott Bowen.

Bowen had hoped for a 4th vote for CCISD President, or Vice President, or Secretary. He lost all three votes without Misty. Misty spent about $6000 on her losing effort not including the support she received from the Harris County Republican Party which as of today has not been reported.

This is going to cost the CCISD taxpayers a lot of money as did the multiple whining sessions by Christine Parizo. Hopefully the district will escort Dawson out as they did Parizo.

Final campaign finance report: CCISD candidate Scott Bowen

Scott Bowen spent a boat load of money on his re-election campaign for CCISD school board. Even with his expenditures and the support from the Republican Party, he failed to get 50% of the vote.

In his last campaign finance report Bowen spent over $14,762 on advertising with The Yates Company, an advertising firm that caters to the right wing of the Republican Party. His entire expenditures for his campaign was over $20,000 not including the mailer sent by the Harris county Republican Party.

He still has an outstanding loan of $20,000 on his books. He received a contribution of $1000 from Jeff Yates (affiliated with The Yates Company?) and $1000 from his mother.

Campaigns for school boards usually require a few thousand dollars. Bowen spent over $20,000, 5 times more than any other candidate and yet he couldn't get more than 50% of the entire vote. Luckily with his buddy's loss, Misty Dawson, failed to give Bowen a leadership position on the board.

I look forward to finding out how much the Harris county Republican Party contributed to this race.

Final campaign finance report: CCISD candidate Misty Dawson

Some CCISD candidates have filed post election financial reports. I believe there will might be another set filed for some candidates after July 15th as well as for the Harris County Republican Party which spent a considerable amount of money in their support of Scott Bowen and possibly Misty Dawson.

According to her report filed with CCISD Misty Dawson spent over $26,000 but $20,000 was simply to repay a loan she took from her pool company the month prior. She never spent the $20,000. Maybe she just wanted to pad her campaign account to make it look like she was supported by the community.

Over $6000 was spent on advertising with The Yates Company a group used by republicans including Scott Bowen. In total she spent about $8000 for the entire campaign. She has $0 Cash on Hand. This should end her failed attempt at gaining a seat on the CCISD board, a position she was clearly unqualified for based upon her performances in various forums.

What is frightening is that she lost by less than 50 votes.

In other news: CCISD Board Member fails vote for leadership. 3 times.

While we are waiting for the Republican Party to find their moral compass, here is an update from the last CCISD meeting.

Scott Bowen spent somewhere along the lines of $50,000 to get re-elected. Even after spending $50,000 he couldn't break 50% of the vote (48%). More than 50% of the voters in this election wanted someone else besides Bowen to be on the CCISD School Board.

It also spread to the board itself. Bowen was nominated for President of the Board and failed. He was nominated for VP and failed. He was nominated for Secretary and failed. Usually you are not nominated unless you know you have the votes to win. Someone forgot to give Bowen that memo.

Thanks to the Board Members for keeping Bowen in the shadows where he belongs. Bowen was only 41 votes shy of being the President. If Misty Dawson had been elected she would have been the deciding vote. Dawson has to be one of the worst, if not the worst, candidate ever to run for the board.

Extreme white wing fail to take over the CCISD School Board

It's truly sad that the control of the community's non-partisan school board was almost taken over by a couple of extreme white wing members of the Republican Party.

In last night's election Krysten Garcia, an excellent candidate, former teacher, almost knocked off the sitting board member, Scott Bowen. Overall most voters wanted Bowen out of office splitting their votes between Carl Nunn and Krysten. Bowen paid out his ass to win this race. He spent at least $17,000 and we will not know how much he used of the $20,000 loan he made to the campaign. He still has an ethics charge pending against him at the Texas Ethics Commission.

In the shocker, Misty Dawson, probably the worst candidate in the history of the CCISD School Board, second only to Bowen, lost by under 100 votes. To say Dawson was an ignorant a**hole when it came to education and CCISD policies would be an understatement. This lady was truly a political moron and yet she almost won. She lent her campaign $20,000 in her losing effort. It truly is sad that the voters in that district were more interested in supporting their far white wing political party filth instead of voting for who is best for the students, parents, and teachers. Hopefully Dawson will not join Stephanie Parizo and start screaming voter fraud much like Steve Hotze did......and is now charged with a number of felonies that could send him to jail for 20 years.

On a very good note, Jessica Cejka, Dawson's opponent, and one of the most qualified candidates will be taking a seat at the next board meeting. Thank you Jessica for running!

Thanks to Carl Nunn and Krysten Garcia for running. It's always hard to run especially when up against endless money and partisan party filth.

CCISD Trustee supports Jan 6 insurrectionist for School Board!

Damn. There is no bottom to Scott Bowen

Julie Pickren has been a Trustee for Alvin ISS since 2015. Pickren is now running for the State Board of Education with the blessings of Scott Bowen. Pickren is a special kind of Qanon candidate. According to Phil Archer of KPRC she attended the Stop the Steal insurrection on Jan 6.

In one of her Facebook posts, she described singing God Bless America outside while some of the protesters forced their way into the capitol building, alleging the false claim that the rioters were actually ANTIFA members, not Trump supporters.

Bowe is pictured above with Pickren. Bowen’s next photo op will be with Vladimir Putin.

Special interest money in the CCISD elections. We knew it was coming....

This is what happens when candidates (Misty Dawson and Scott Bowen) for CCISD School Board are more concerned about their Party than the parents of CCISD school kids.

Texans for Excellent Education is a PAC created last year. They have 2 donors, Kathaleen Wall and Holloway Frost, two extremely rich, far right, republican donors. Wall is well known for spending about $13 Million trying to win a primary in two different congressional districts. She lost both in epic fashion. She is now helping out her buddy Bowen and has donated $25,000 to the special interest PAC.

Holloway Frost is the former CEO of Texas Memory Systems and has donated over $1.8 Million to various far right candidates. He has donated $90,000 to this new PAC. The PAC specifically supports a couple of candidates including Misty Dawson. His PAC's treasurer is Larry Hicks who is the treasurer for a number of extreme right wing candidates and organizations.

What they intend to do with their money in support of Misty Dawson is unknown at the time but with that kind of money they can easily blanket the district with paid block walkers, paid phone bankers, and paid mailers by The Yates Company, Scott Bowen's favorite advertising agency. Dawson brags about self financing her campaign wit her $20,000 loan from her company but she fails to mention this PAC's contributions.

Party Politics over School Parents. It's happening here in the district.

Raising Campaign Cash: CCISD School Board Candidates UPDATED

The 7 day out reports for the CCISD elections have been filed. Here is a summary of the candidates fundraising and spending activity. The reports can be found at https://www.ccisd.net/elections#filing-rosters Note: Carl Nunn has not filed.

Misty Dawson. Raised $0. Loan from her company for $20,000. $600 in expenditures. With only a week until the election I'm not sure what she could do with her $20,000 loan. (Note: She is getting support from a new PAC out of houston  more late)

Scott Bowen. Raised $2304. Spent $14,789. Cash on hand $10,686. Of the $2304 raised $1000 came from a consultant with The Yates Company, a republican consulting firm and $1000 came from his mom. He spent $14,040 to The Yates Company for his mailers with the kids. Has a $20,000 outstanding loan.

Krysten Garcia. Raised $3809. Spent $3114. Has a $1060 outstanding loan. Cash on Hand $2388.

CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen next target: The gay community

I thought this was coming and it did last night at the CCISD board meeting.

The public comment section of the CCISD board meeting had the usual conspiracy theorist spouting off some random talking points. Followed by an individual who pointed a finger at Scott Bowen for bringing partisan politics into the board. That was followed by a couple of people wearing matching t-shirts and attacking our schools concerning the gay community. This activity has Scott Bowen written all over it.

Scott and his supporters hammered the dead horse of CRT (that has never been taught in schools, isn't being taught in schools, and will never be taught in schools). Now that that issue has fizzled they seem to have been given new marching orders, attack the gay community. Attack the schools for "indoctrination" of kids, as if our teachers have the time to do that. It's nothing more than another made up controversy probably orchestrated by the Republican Party and Scott Bowen. This is what they do.

One individual claimed that the board was not sensitive to his "family values". I would bet he is the same guy who voted for the former guy who porked a porn star, paid her off, and then lied about it to his supporters. He is the same guy who watched as TFG mocked a disabled American, the same guy who supports a habitual liar, the same guy who watches TFG lie, cheat, steal, and encourage violence. Yep. Family values.

The gay community is here, in our schools, as teachers, as students, as parents, as family members. They want nothing but to live and learn in peace without being targets of hate. They are our kids, our students, our teachers, our friends, our family members. Bowen should know that.

So in the coming months this will probably be the new target of the Bowen Bunch after attacking our teachers, our school board, the voting systems, and education in general. I hope his $20,000 loan to his campaign doesn't pan out. He is a cancer.
