Turn out the lights the family values party is over

The party that claims to corner family values is now officially over with the second bizarre confession by a Grand Old Partier (GROPE) of having an affair. Unlike others who have affairs, the members of GROPE spew the rhetoric about the sanctity of marriage and christian conservative values, all the while having affairs with other women/men. The latest being South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford.
NEW YORK (AP) — How did he think he could get away with it?

To visit his lover in Argentina, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford slipped his security detail, lied to his staff about his whereabouts and neglected to transfer executive power to the lieutenant governor in case of a state emergency.
Yep. That is the republican governor of South Carolina, the second affair in a month after republican Senator John Ensign who announced before being blackmailed. You would think the remainder of those who call themselves republicans would leave the party after embarrassments like Senator "I did her" Vitter, Senator "I am not gay" Larry Craig, Congressman "I like boys" Mark Foley, Former Speaker of the House "Going on the 4th marriage" Gingrich, Harris County DA "Kiss behind the ear" Rosenthal, and "I can't get it up" Limbaugh.

But instead the self proclaimed, Christian conservatives, chock full of moral values, will make excuses for them, call for forgiveness, and wait for their tax cut in the mail. All in a days work of being a hypocrite.

And that is the end of the family values party.

Well, John, this may rebound to the benefit of your "no values" party -- but i don't think so.

After all, while we may forgive Sanford and pray for him and his family, none of us are going to vote for him.

What's more, many of us want to see him resign.

Of course, as a Democrat he would have been considered a hero by you.

yea right. You would be fighting to get in line to vote for him.

You "holier than thou" crowd will always find a way to deflect the fact that your party is a bunch of hypocrites.

You need help. As well as your party.

I'm guessing the republicans will find a way to blame this on gay marriage.

Chin up pubbies! It could be worse. At least he didn't knock up Sarah Palin's daughter.

I am SHOCKED that no one brought up Bill Clinton yet!

And if he did knock up Palin's daughter he would have gotten a front row seat to the republican convention. And paraded on the stage.

Until he dumped her.

"yea right. You would be fighting to get in line to vote for him."

Nonsense. Republican voters are calling for his resignation or removal.

US Citizen....I'm willing to bet this will all be forgotten by 2010 and he'll sail right into office.

John Coby said...

I agree with Kent. You will forgive until it happens to a Democrat then you will spew hypocrisy.

Half of North Carolinians want him to resign now -- add to that the number of folks who won't vote for him and you can see that he won't win in 2010

That makes it so much better.

NOT! Makes you wonder what you guys stand for now adays.

John, were you ever able to stammer out a credible allegation against Ed Johnson, or have you given up on that windmill?

John Coby said...

Uh....this post is about the republican party and losing their "family values" name tag.
