Raising Campaign Cash from Bob Perry

Bob Perry, homebuilder and tort reformer, has donated over $1.4 Million in the first half of 2008, ahead of his 2007 donations of $1.1 Million but way short of his 2006 mark of $4.6 Million. (The donations were from Perry and his wife Doylene and does not include any donations from other family members.)

$241,000 was donated to Democrats leaving over $1.2 Million for Republicans and Republican organizations. The top Republican receiver of Perrymoney was the King of Electricity Deregulation, Phil King, with over $82,000 and the top Democrat was Aaron Pena receiving $85,000.

In Senate District 11, State Senator Mike "Missing in Action" Jackson received $62,500 and State Representative John Davis received $17,500 nearly financing his complete primary in March.

Perry is best known for his large donations to the swiftboating of Senator John Kerry which prompted a spirited protest in front of his home in Nassau Bay of about 50 protestors.

OK, if you receive $85,000 from Bob the Builder the word Democrat should not be connected with one's name in my opinion.

Seems to me that if you vow to take public financing and then don't, the word "nominee" shouldn't be connected with a Democrat's name.
