McCain's $500 Ferragamo loafers, so what?

So Senator John McCain wears $500 calfskin Ferragamo loafers. So what? Things are always bigger in Texas including wearing fancy footwear. Case in point: State Representative John Davis (R-Houston).

Davis wears a pair of $1500 custom make cowboy boots. And to boot, he paid for them using his donors contributions, which is not only unethical, it is against the law. What could he have been thinking when he paid for the boots with his donor's donations?

Unfortunately for Davis, he was caught. A complaint filed against him with the Texas Ethics Commission and was resolved with a $1000 fine.....which he paid with his donor's donations! He also returned the $1500 to his account from his own pocket. That was one expensive pair of poop kickers.

So McCain, don't even try to out shoe us Texans, cuz we will give ya the boot! More at Capitol Annex.

Ferragamo? McCain? Really? We were thinking more along the lines of Botany 500. Nonetheless, we happen to have checked out the Ferragamo Web site, and looked at the men's summer 2008 collection—turns out it's true, McCain is a Ferragamo man: http://www.236.com/news/2008/07/31/john_mccain_caught_in_520_ferr_8049.php
