McCain says NO to Cornyns marriage amendment.

This week the California Supreme Court overturned a ban on same sex marriage handing Texas Senator John Cornyn an issue he could use in the upcoming election since he has little if any accomplishments to his name or to his party. His flag burning amendment to the Constitution went up in smoke and his "Sanctity of Marriage" banning same sex marriage was not only stopped in the Senate, failing to get the required votes to move it to the floor, but John McCain as well as other Republicans voted AGAINST it!

In 2004 Cornyn's amendment to the constitution, SJ Res 1, failed miserably to get the required 2/3 vote. Included in the Nays were Republicans Chafee, Collins, Gregg, McCain, Snowe, Specter, and Sununu. Senator Craig voted for the ban because as we all know he is not gay.

With gas prices out the roof, the economy in the tank, our country still at war in Afghanistan and Iraq, yada, yada....Cornyn has little to run on except for gay bashing and mexican bashing, which will be his staple issues. Unfortunately he won't get the support of their presidential candidate, McCain.

Maybe McCain is afraid of Cornyn filing a bill to ban divorces.

Not so fast. McCain can change his views on an issue in the blink of an eye.

If gay bashing will get him into the White House - and keep Cornyn in office - gay bashing is what we'll get. It's not like Republicans have record of achievement to run on. And this is still Texas, after all.

If you haven't already sent money to Rick Noriega, please do so. This is a winnable seat!
