My mom has tremendous respect for Senator Obama and his excitment that he brings to the political process, but she made a statement that has stuck in my head for days."I can't remember when our country was in such a horrible situation considering the war in iraq, our debt, our status in the world. My country is in trouble and I believe Hillary Clinton can begin to solve the problems beginning on day one."My mom is 81. She has recently survived cancer, something my dad didn't do 4 years ago. Like Hillary, she has paid her dues, and she has raised 6 kids, and provided an opportunity for them to get an education.
Hillary has been working for health care for all since the early 90's. She has worked to help others her entire life. She has been the target of hate radio for over 10 years, and she is still standing. She is tough. She is a great politician. She can lead and compromise when needed. She is well respected around the world. She has paid her dues and she is very capable of leading this nation out of the rut the Republican party put us in and she can begin doing it on day one.
My mom is not as political as I am, but she is very interested in the outcome of this race. Her concern is not based upon being on the winning primary team, or electing a woman as President, but it is soley based on her concern for the future of her country. And she believes in Hillary Clinton.
My mom is for Senator Hillary Clinton. And so am I.

If they sold t-shirts that said "My mom is for Hillary and so am I", I'd buy one!
My dad is for Hillary..my mom will probably vote as my dad does...My brother and sister are obama people. All live the heart of the rio grande valley. We have always voted alike until now...heavy drinking is very entertaining!
My family is split, but we are all civil. We all agree we cant have another republican in office.
This country can't financially survive another.
John, are you suggesting the federal budget and the overall tax burden will be lower under a Clinton or Obama presidency?
No. I am saying you are a frickin idiot.
:)
matt, you debate like an 8 year old. Constantly changing the subject, or running off on tangents not relevant to the discussion.
Just like most right wing media people.
that is why most people ignore you.
including me, except for this response.
I agree. You are a frickin idiot.
Constantly changing the subject, or running off on tangents not relevant to the discussion.
A tangent? I was directly responding to John's assertion that "this country can't financially survive another" Republican president.
I would like to see John (or you) to defend Hillary on fiscal matters.
My wife and I are voting for Hillary. I just wish they would do away with the bs electoral college and go off of the popular vote. " If you want to live like a Republican, vote Democrat"
My mom is no longer alive, but I suspect if she were she would vote for John McCain. But I disagreed with her on many things, politics being one of them. I've voting for Obama; my vote is my decision, not my mom's - or anyone else's.
I was at 2 Hillary rally's Sunday and went to the opening of her office today. As I was coming over the overpass, from a distance I thought a huge building was evacuated. All I saw was media vans and an enormous crowd. As I rode closer in I saw the signs and realized it was Hil's office. incredible turnout!
She is my choice.
Let's give Matt a little credit. He argues like a teenager, not an eight year old.
I'm raising two teenagers and their arguments are often circular, don't have any connection to reality and seem to be about trying to distract me - about things that don't make sense to grownups. (just wait, Matt will make some comment about my parenting or reasoning here, thinking he just played teenage "gotcha!")
The good news is that most teenagers grow up. But, some have real psychological issues for a host of reasons and get stuck at age 15 emotionally and mentally.

Not at all. Teenagers are often just as you described them.
But that has no connection to my question of John.
He made a specific assertion -- "This country can't financially survive another" Republican official.
I'm asking him to back up that assertion with facts, or at least a line of reasoning.
But, some have real psychological issues for a host of reasons and get stuck at age 15 emotionally and mentally.
Now you're playing amateur psychologist? Okay, I'm game. What specific "psychological issues" are you diagnosing?
I have NEVER been into politics! However I am always reading resumes for consulting projects. I decided to do my own research on Obama and Clinton. I found that Clinton had an Excellent Resume, she has failures but seem like she just went on. Obama didn't have much to go on, however he can really deliver a great Rally. However after careful consideration I decided to Vote Clinton. I strongly feel the problems America faces should be handled by someone with a good background.
