Being sold out in Pearland.

Karl of Burnt Orange Report (must be a teasip) has a great post from the field on the House District 29 runoff race in Pearland. Dr. Anthony DiNovo, pictured left, is the Democrat running for this position. He is running against 3 Republicans, each trying to out "conservative" each other.

Some parts of Pearland are rabid Republican voters. They are NOT Republicans, but they will vote for them no matter how high their electricity rates are, or how high their insurance has risen. And most are well educated and expect to put their kids through college, but they will still vote for a Republican no matter how high college costs continue to rise.

Many believe they are "conservative", but doubling insurance, electricity, and college costs is NOT conservative. Neither is cutting health insurance for a quarter of a million kids especially while losing federal funding. That isn't conservative. That is short sighted, stupid. And mean.

But of course, they claim they don't want to sell their soul by voting for a Democrat, all the while their Republican leaders are selling them out to the highest bidding lobbyist and special interest groups. O'Day and Weber will be more of the same. They will protect their business interests while selling their supporters out to the insurance and homebuilder industry.

Maybe today all of that will change.
