Shelley Sekula Whats In A Name?

Shelley Sekula-Rodriguez-Gibbs, the newly selected candidate for the Write-In Party (RIP) for Congress seemed to have complained to KTRH radio about signs in the Clear Lake area that might confuse voters. (as if they can be any more confused as it is)

Sherrie Matula, a retiring teacher, a long time community activist and candidate for State Representative district 129 (and a good one at that) has been running for office for the last 6 months. Unlike Shelley Sekula, Sherrie Matula has been married for 33 years, with only one name, and participated in the Democratic primary, unopposed.

The signs were put together on two poles for two simple reasons: Nick Lampson and Sherrie Matula are Democrats. And both are very well qualified to represent their respective districts.

How anyone can confuse Sherrie Matula with Shelley Sekula-Rodriguez-Gibbs at this point is hard to imagine. With our nation at war, a $300 Billion deficit, $9Trillion debt, 2600+ soldiers killed, our reputation in the world soiled, and many other issues the Republican Party has fouled up, it is easy to understand why Shelley Sekula-Rodriguez-Gibbs is making a fuss about a name.

Maybe she should consider changing her name to a symbol. Like the musician formerly known as "Prince" did. Maybe @ would do.

(Although @ is not available for Write In Party (RIP) candidates. Neither is a hyphen for that matter.)

A small request, could you separate your title some and not have the large one word with all the dashes. It's something that has happened to a number of Texas bloggers, but when there is a lond string like that in the title, it breaks some of our site designs because the Lefty Blogs feed gets made too wide on our side to accomodate the title. Just a gentle request and reminder for the future.
